Dr. Gant provides a friendly atmosphere and comfortable office for patients of all ages. There is a play area for children, where they can entertain themselves with coloring books, Legos, magnetic boards and electronic toys. As for adults, we have a variety of amenities to make your visit more pleasant. A tooth brushing station, ample samples of the best oral hygiene products recommended (including chewing gum!), cable television in every operatory room, massage units on every dental chair, bottled water and music with headphones just in case you forgot yours at home.
As some of you know, dental technology has made some significant advances in dental care. Here are some of those items that we feature in our office.
The Wand: The wand is a device that aids the doctor in delivering a smooth, slow injection which in most cases is barely noticeable to the patient.
Diagnodent Cavity Detector: This device uses laser technology to detect cavities at their early stages. It is as simple as waving a small flashlight over your teeth and a cavity reading appears on the screen.
Intraoral Camera: This device is a pea-sized camera placed at the tip of a wand. The camera is then placed in front of the desired tooth, takes a picture, and the image is transferred to a large television monitor where it is very easy to view by the patient.
Digital X-rays: A small object called a sensor is placed in the patient’s mouth. A button is then pushed and a clear image of the patients tooth is immediately ready for viewing on the chair side monitor. This process is quicker, emits significantly less radiation than the older-traditional x-ray technique, and is more environmentally friendly!
Casey Education System: After every dental exam, a treatment plan is formulated by the doctor. It is natural for patients to have questions concerning their treatment. Dr. Gant offers easy to understand educational videos for every possible dental procedure. After viewing the video from the comfort of your dental chair, the staff is available to go over any additional concerns that the patient may have.
Sedation: We understand that some patients may have a little dental anxiety that may deter them from seeing a dentist. Sedation is usually very helpful in this situation. Dr. Gant provides sedation in the form of Nitrous Oxide and or an Oral Supplement. These methods allow the patient to become more comfortable in our dental environment and continue with their care which will lead them on a road to excellent dental health.
